2025 was an interesting year. I don’t mean just for me personally, but for the world in general.

There was, well, a lot of darkness this year.

Wars continued. Genocide went on while the world watched. And the economic global situation got a little weird. OK, it got a lot weird.

While I end the year not knowing what my next step will be in my work, I don’t feel hopeless. There are plenty of things to worry about, a lot to be negative about, and plenty of ways to continue asking if things could ever get better. They can, they will, and there is always more to come. I realized on new year’s eve that I connected with each of my kids in a unique and special way to end the year. Each one having a need, having a special conversation, looking for a new outlook on what comes next.

Hope, a way ahead…an adventure. That is really the entrance into every new year.

(30 years ago yesterday! This was the last Calvin and Hobbes)

While I really wanted to give you, the reader, something pithy and witty to start the new year, I realized I didn’t really have much more than I did last year. To keep on keeping on, seeking the adventure, to make space for conversation, to pursue the future with curiosity, not trying to control the world around you. So, have a look at my thoughts from the beginning of 2025, and carry on!
