Whenever I think of resiliency I imagine a rubber band snapping back into form. Not snapping from the tension, but flexing and finding it’s way back.
People struggle with resiliency. It requires change and adaptation to the situation. The result is a new form and consistency with the same core nature and composition. The difficulty for most is not losing the centre in the process of being stretched.
Rubber bands do snap. They become rigid with time, the stretch is beyond the created design of the rubber band, and if we try them to this extent they will break. We build resiliency through adversity, and learning who we are in both good and bad situations.
